Anjou Blanc Mea Culpa – 2024 – 75cl
Grape variety: 100% Chenin
Manual harvest, from parcels prepared for the production of fine dry wines, with strict control of the sanitary state to harvest beautiful yellow grapes before a long pressing. 100% alcoholic fermentation in 400L barrels, no malolactic fermentation to maintain the fresh, crisp character typical of Loire wines. The wine is then aged in barrels, with periodic lees stirring over several months, until bottling.
Food & Wine Pairing Recommendations:
For direct service or after decanting to enhance its color and aromatic complexity, the balanced taste of this wine, served at 10-12°C, will pair well with a variety of dishes, including:
- Smoked and raw fish
- Shellfish (langoustines, lobsters, crayfish, etc.) with a creamy reduction sauce
- Certain shellfish like pan-seared scallops, warm oysters, etc.
- Some white meats with cream-based sauces, sweetbreads, etc.
- Hard cheeses (Comté aged 24 or 36 months, old mimolette, etc.)
Storage: This wine will evolve gracefully over the next 6 to 8 years, but is already enjoyable to taste now.
