Vintage and exceptional wines

Anjou wine is an exceptional wine. Domaine des Petits Quarts has been producing it since 1887. It has received numerous awards at national and international competitions. These awards are the result of years of hard work and attention to the vines. Only one grape variety is used, Chenin, to produce several exceptional Anjou wines...

A wine from a unique grape variety: Chenin

We have chosen to select a unique grape variety: Chenin. It allows us to produce quality sweet and liquorous wines. It adapts perfectly to the soil of the estate, composed of schists and granites. It is even from this grape variety that the wine derives its aromatic profile.
The mild climate of Anjou makes it easy to cultivate. The mild temperatures, combined with humidity and winds from the Atlantic, create ideal conditions for the vines to flourish. Time also favors the development of Botrytis on the grapevines. This fungus causes the berries to wither and concentrate in sugar and aromas. The resulting juice is thus concentrated and powerful.
Another factor that allows us to obtain the best grapes is that our vines grow on steep terrain with a slope of 25%. This is an ideal situation for producing quality wine.

White wines from Anjou produced at Domaine des Petits Quarts

The grapes are handpicked when fully ripe, and to ensure only the best fruits are harvested, three to ten passes are made in each plot. This meticulous work allows us to offer you exceptional white wines:

  • Burnizelus, for which 2022 is the first vintage, is grown on the lands of Bonnezeaux. The grapes are harvested when very ripe to preserve the aroma of the terroir. It is then fermented and aged on lees, in jars, for one year.
  • Anjou Blanc fût de chêne, as the name suggests, is aged in 400-liter oak barrels. It is distinguished by its slightly woody note.
  • Anjou Blanc Printemps is fermented in buried vats for several weeks. It is a sweet Anjou white wine with notes of white flowers, fresh fruits, and English candy.

If you like these bottles, you should also try our Anjou wine or our Anjou Côteaux du Layon wine. It has a delicate sweet touch, balanced by acidity and aromas of exotic fruits.

The AOC Anjou Wine

Our Anjou white wine benefits from the appellation d’origine contrôlée (AOC). Produced in the town of Faye d’Anjou, in the heart of Coteaux du Layon, it is part of the AOC’s geographic zone. This label certifies the origin of our grapes, the grape variety used, and our viticultural practices. It is a guarantee for consumers of the authenticity of our wines.
The wines produced by the Domaine des Petits Quarts are among the best Anjou wines. The unique soil and climate of the Anjou region allow for exceptional aromas in our grapes. Our moelleux and liquoreux wines are the result of work undertaken in our cellar for many years. Our goal is to make every vintage exceptional.
